Wilson Wong is a Director of Amica Law LLC and has been in practice for more than 30 years.

His practice centres on intellectual property licensing, IT transactions, technology transfer, R&D, biotechnology, franchising, entertainment and other agreements involving intellectual property and technology, as well as data protection, privacy, cybersecurity, payment services, banking & financial systems, and spam control. He also advises on general commercial agreements including manufacturing, technical services and distribution agreements, and hotel & property management agreements.

 

He represents a broad spectrum of intellectual property, IT, biotechnology and other technology providers and users in a wide variety of transactions.

 

Wilson graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1988 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1989.

• The establishment of the legal infrastructure for the nationwide electronic cheque clearing system for financial institutions and the accompanying public key infrastructure

• Major financial institutions in their technology outsourcing and Internet banking projects

• Advising designated critical information infrastructure (CII) operator on cybersecurity compliance

• Advising Singapore operator on cross-border online payment linkage project between Singapore & Thailand

• Establishing and negotiating the legal structure and documentation for the cross-border online payment linkage project between Singapore & India

• A major telecommunications company in the outsourcing of its IT infrastructure to a multinational managed services provider

• Advising investment company on IP and licensing issues in a major pharmaceutical venture

• Statutory boards & regulatory bodies in IP & technology licensing projects including:

  • the outsourcing of a major regulatory body’s entire IT infrastructure and data centre functions to an outsourced services provider     

  • drafting and advising on a master IP framework for a national project for a government ministry     

  • implementation of a computerised ticketing system for shows and events held at various venues

• Advising companies on their IP restructuring, sale & purchase, licensing, and franchising arrangements

• Advising Singapore & foreign universities, research institutes and corporations on technology and licensing transactions and issues, as well as research, licensing and exploitation projects and collaborations
